Place broccoli in a steamer pot or colander over a pot of boiling water. Steam for 5 to 7 minutes or until broccoli is a vibrant green color. Remove from heat. Set aside to cool for a couple of minutes.
On the stovetop over medium-high heat, place almonds in a skillet and roast for a couple of minutes until aromatic. Remove for heat and set aside.
In a Vitamix, blender or a pot using a hand-held immersion blender, place broccoli, almonds, milk, water (for a thinner consistency), curry powder and salt. Puree for 5 minutes. (If using a Vitamix, set on "Soup" setting and blend until it turns off automatically.)
Divide soup into bowls and drizzle each with a hint of olive oil, if desired. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
