If you could see inside your gut, what would it look like?
Did you know we have more bacteria in our bodies than cells? The key is nurturing the good bacteria to foster physical and mental health. When I think of gut health, I think probiotics, a.k.a. “friendly” bacteria in the gut. Fermented food like yogurt, kimchi, kombucha, kefir, apple cider vinegar and black mushrooms may all provide a health benefit to your gastrointestinal tract in the form of “good, friendly” bacteria.
Today, let’s add some probiotics into your life with yogurt. The key with yogurt is looking for the words: “live, active cultures” on the label.
To cut back on sugar, I use plain yogurt and sweeten it myself with fruit, honey, agave nectar or maple syrup. It’s super easy and delicious — your taste buds will love it.
Simply, wash and hull a handful of strawberries. Here’s a simple way to hull strawberries, while not wasting a lot of the fruit.

6 strawberries, washed and hulled
1/2 cup plain Greek-style yogurt
1 Tablespoon raw honey
With a small pairing knife, simply cut in a circle around the stem of the strawberries. Pop out the stem leaving a hole in the berry, which is perfect for filling. Add a dollop of yogurt into each hulled berry and drizzle each one with honey.
